Welcome to Bangor Physiotherapy

See us in action in the practice

Bangor Physiotherapy was established in 1980 by Chartered Physiotherapist Jenny, working from home as a sole practitioner until she was joined by daughters Susan Curran and Alice Pringle, niece Victoria Crooks, and David Reaney.

Jenny has treated generations of families and staff carry on the tradition of quality “hands on” treatment and care. Patients self refer through personal recommendation from doctors, consultants and medical insurers who choose to send their patients to the practice for the high standard of physiotherapy we provide. We provide physiotherapy to all leading insurance companies.

The ethos of the practice is a holistic approach to recovery and rehabilitation of body and mind, involving the patient, physiotherapist, other health care professionals and family when necessary. Please take a glimpse of our practice video and view our friendly and experienced staff who will be pleased to speak to you before treatment commences to help you find the right answer to your problem with our specialist brand of physiotherapy.

‘Bangor Physiotherapy has been pivotal in helping me manage severe and sustained back pain following a prolapsed disc resulting in cauda equina syndrome. This has caused on-going pain and mobility issues.  Alice has assisted my pain management with a range of treatments all being effective with good results.  I have movement back in areas I didn’t expect and a vast improvement with regards to the pain. She is extremely knowledgeable and has always answered my questions with regards to my condition.  I wouldn’t trust any other practice.  The whole team are very professional and friendly’.

‘After I had my stroke and went through the NHS rehab programme, I was recommended to contact Bangor Physiotherapy to get some physiotherapy to aid my recovery.  I have been going regularly over the years and have noticed a big improvement in my condition. The physios are very aware of what I can and cannot do and treat me accordingly.  The physios are all very experienced in treating all types of aches and pains.  I would have no hesitation in recommending them if you have a problem which would benefit from some treatment.  I have certainly benefitted’.

‘Having had two major surgeries on my shoulders to repair rotator cuff tears and shoulder impingement my physio Susan Curran from Bangor Physiotherapy has been central to my recovery.  With both her professionalism, working knowledge and empathy my recovery has been very successful and I am on the road to full recovery. The team at the practice are efficient, friendly, and show a working knowledge and empathy across the board.  The treatment I have received over the last four years has been excellent.  Susan’s working knowledge as a physiotherapist and my condition was frankly exceptional and I would highly recommend both Susan and the practice’.

‘The staff at Bangor Physiotherapy all provide a very personal service. They ensure that there is always a very calming, professional and friendly atmosphere at the practice. I received a Total Knee Replacement. My physio, Jenny Archer, was really efficient in dealing with my mobility problems and in helping me to obtain optimum fitness before and after surgery. Jenny explained everything about the operation and recovery in a simple and understandable way. This definitely made me feel more at ease and aided a more positive recovery’.
